At this point, it's safe to call “Deadpool & Wolverine” a phenomenon, right?
Even if I personally I didn't fall in love with it as much as I wanted to – here's my review of “Deadpool & Wolverine” if you want to know why – the latest Marvel movie was one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
Since its release in late July, “Deadpool & Wolverine” has become the second-biggest film of 2024 and has received praise from MCU fans around the world, thanks in large part to the cavalcade of “Deadpool & Wolverine” cameos and surprises built into the plot.
Given that it's such a blockbuster movie, I bet a lot of superhero movie fans are eager to know when “Deadpool & Wolverine” will be streaming on Disney Plus so they can plan their second, third, or fourth viewing later. Here's what we know about the “Deadpool & Wolverine” release date right now.
When will “Deadpool & Wolverine” be available to stream?
Watch on
If we look at some of the MCU's most recent efforts — “The Marvels,” “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” — you'll notice that all three of those films arrived on Disney Plus 89 days after their theatrical release.
If “Deadpool & Wolverine” follows the same pattern, then the mouthy mercenary’s latest adventure could be available to stream on Disney Plus on or around Tuesday October 22, 2024. Of course, this will come to premium video on demand (PVOD) stores like Apple TV, Prime Video and Google Play Before will be available on Disney Plus, but we don't have a confirmed date for that yet.
From “Deadpool & Wolverine” is doing so well at the box office that it seems likely that the House of Mouse wants to keep the film in theaters as long as possible. In fact, we might be better off looking to Disney other 2024 success story “Inside Out 2” — which has grossed nearly $1.6 billion so far — to make an educated guess about when “Deadpool & Wolverine” will premiere.
While we wait for Inside Out 2 to be released on Disney Plus, we guessed that the biggest movie of the year (which is always (in theaters), is likely to arrive on Disney Plus in September or October. This is based on the film's 100-day theatrical run and September 10 Blu-ray and DVD release date.
Given that “Deadpool & Wolverine” is now the second-biggest movie of the year, it’s certainly possible that Disney will delay its streaming release even later in the year. But until we get an official response from Disney itself, we’ll stick with our best guess, above.
