Today's Connections Answer — Hints to Help You Solve It
Unlike our Wordle answer guide today, where we recommend the best Wordle starter words as a strategy, solving Connections relies on identifying connecting categories among 16 words. The difficulty level of each category is represented by a color; yellow is the easiest grouping and purple is the hardest. Once you make 4 mistakes in your guesses, the answers will be revealed, so the hints can be helpful.
If you need hints to solve the groupings, here are the themes for each, in order of difficulty:
- 🟨 YELLOW: Gust of wind
- 🟩 Green: Turn
- 🟦 Blue: Zodiac Symbols
- 🟪 Purple:Dr. Seuss' title appears
These clues should help you find at least part of the answers to today's questions about connections. If not, you can continue reading for more detailed clues; or, if you just want to know the answer, scroll down the page.
Here's a broader clue: Today is a gust of wind on this fall day, as you turn to admire the leaves and stars later in the day. After that, cozy up with a good book, maybe something by Seuss. I'm ready for fall, if you hadn't noticed.
These clues should help you figure out the answers to today’s questions. Otherwise, you can keep reading for more detailed clues; or, if you just want to know the answer, scroll down. Here’s a bigger hint: Don’t bother with today’s riddle. Instead, put on some music, grab some snacks, and watch one of your favorite movies as a kid.
So what are today's Connections answers for game #436?
Drum roll, please…
- 🟨 Gust of wind: Blow, draft, gust, breath
- 🟩 Turn: Crank, reel, turn the wind
- 🟦 Zodiac Symbols: Taurus, Crab, Leo, Aries
- 🟪 Dr. Seuss Title Numbers: Cat, Grinch, Pop, Turtle
Today's grid is apparently easier than Monday's. Not for me.
I won't say how long I spent figuring out the blue and purple categories, because I don't really know, but I had to take a break and come back to it.
I started the day with a green hook, a crank, a reel, a turn and a winder.
I was already thinking of yellow and so blow, draft, gust and breath fell shortly after I put the green words.
I took a few hits here because I couldn't see the blue or purple category for the life of me.
Usually I can make some sort of mental connection, but my brain wasn't working today. The only reason I got the blue category was a wild guess after nearly failing. I should have known that the bull, crab, lion, and ram are zodiac symbols, yes, but not today.
It's a shame because purple is fun with Dr. Seuss' main characters in Cat (in the hat), (How the) Grinch (Stole Christmas), (Hop on) Pop, and (Yertle the) Turtle (and other stories).
Sometimes it happens like this.
Answers to yesterday's connections
Reading this in a later time zone? Here are Connections' answers for game #435, which had a difficulty rating of 3 out of 5, according to the Connection companion.
Alyssa was glad she had an easier time solving Monday's puzzle than Sunday's. The yellow category came out on top without much difficulty. Blues is hard to mistake for anything other than a genre, and once she started trying to find other genres, country, folk, and rock quickly came up.
She went to a family barbecue yesterday and must have still had hot dogs and hamburgers on her mind because green came next with the Brat, Bun, Mustard and Sauerkraut.
She fumbled around a bit after that, but managed to land on a wrong answer that would make her guess another category. She had heard of the Mountain and Warrior poses in yoga before, and she vaguely remembered the Chair from a yoga class a friend had dragged me to years ago. But she didn't know that the Tree was also one; the more you know!
The purple category became a rote reference after that. She says she really should have been able to guess the connection since the same category yesterday was related to another animated film, Snow White, but that still wasn't enough to give her a clue.
