Today's Connections Answer — Hints to Help You Solve It
Unlike our Wordle answer guide today, where we recommend the best Wordle starter words as a strategy, solving Connections relies on identifying connecting categories among 16 words. The difficulty level of each category is represented by a color; yellow is the easiest grouping and purple is the hardest. Once you make 4 mistakes in your guesses, the answers will be revealed, so the hints can be helpful.
If you need hints to solve the groupings, here are the themes for each, in order of difficulty:
- 🟨 YELLOW:Alarm clock buttons
- 🟩 Green:Here is a thought
- 🟦 Blue: Candy pieces
- 🟪 Purple:Seven dwarves minus the last letter
These clues should help you find at least part of the answers to today's questions about connections. If not, you can continue reading for more detailed clues; or, if you just want to know the answer, scroll down the page.
Here's a broader clue: Whistle while you work as much as you like, but don't forget to set your snooze alarm, catch up on the latest office gossip, and treat yourself to a little treat (you've earned it).
Today's Connections Answers
So what are today's Connections answers for game #434?
Drum roll, please…
- 🟨 Alarm clock buttons: Alarm, time, snooze, time setting
- 🟩 Here's a thought…: Maybe, let's say, suppose, what if
- 🟦 Candy pieces: Kisses, nerd, runt, fat guy
- 🟪 Seven dwarves minus the last letter: Do, dope, growl, sleep
I understand why today's puzzle has such a difficult peak. This purple category is downright evil.
This time, only the green category came easily to me. What if and Suppose are close enough to stand out immediately, followed by Maybe and Say once I thought about common ways to phrase questions.
Next came the yellow category, but by then I had already made a mistake. I thought Nerd, Runt, Grump, and Dope could be related because they can all be used as insults. When I had this idea, I wondered what else Time Set could be if not something to do with an alarm clock, and so Alarm, Hour, and Snooze fell into place.
The blue category was tricky, with Kiss, Nerd, Runt, and Whopper all referring to candy, not playground insults or Burger King hamburgers, as I mistakenly thought.
I ran out of answers before I could solve the purple category. Dope, Grump, and Sleep seem obvious now even if they weren't immediately obvious, but I don't think I would have ever associated Do (as in the name Doc without the “c”) with them alone. You win this time, Connections Crew.
Answers to yesterday's connections
Reading this in a later time zone? Here are Connections' answers for game #433, which had a difficulty rating of 1.8 out of 5, according to the Connection companion.
Yesterday, Scott said his date later that night may have been the reason the green category first came to him. It was a quick fix to get a French blowjob, a kiss, a smooch session, and a neck.
The yellow category then stands out, where he gets dialect, language, speech and language.
It was a bit of a toss-up, but he settled on what appeared to be housing styles with cottage, craftsman, prairie and ranch.
The blue category was a simple fill in from there with first aid kit items; bandage, dressing, scissors and duct tape.
It's fast today, enjoy it and have a great weekend.
