If there’s one thing people can complain about the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, it probably isn’t its screen size. At 6.8 inches, it’s one of the largest displays on the market, which helps keep it on our list of the best phones. However, it looks like Samsung will be making the screen even bigger than the previous phone.
According to a new leak from Ice Universe, who has a relatively solid track record with Samsung devices, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a 6.86-inch display. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch display, so the difference isn't huge.
What's notable about the larger display is that Samsung will be reducing the bezels of the phone, decreasing the overall dimensions of the phone despite the larger display. The same leak suggests that the S25 Ultra will be 77.6mm wide, compared to 79mm on the current S24 Ultra. This is also the rumored width of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display.
Overall, Samsung could offer thinner bezels and narrower bezels on the upcoming premium smartphone, especially in terms of width. The display portion of the phone is said to be 73mm wide compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra's 72.3mm.
It’s worth noting that despite Ice Universe’s good results, this is a leak, and there’s always a risk that leaks are wrong. The information here makes sense and is consistent with rumors about Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max. That phone is the S25 Ultra’s biggest competitor, so it would make sense for Samsung to target a similar screen size and smaller depth with its premium device.
We've also heard about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra moving to rounded corners, which, along with the smaller bezels, could make the device more comfortable to use. We'll have to wait until the phone launches in early 2025 to find out all the details. In the meantime, read our roundup of all the Galaxy S25 Ultra rumors to find out more.
