Earlier this year, Prime Video brought us one of the best video game adaptations to date: the TV series “Fallout.” However, Amazon just dropped a new trailer as part of Gamescom 2024's Opening Night Live… and it might just be the best video game series we've ever seen.
The series in question is “Secret Level,” an adult animated anthology series developed by Blur Studio, the team behind the popular Netflix sci-fi/horror series, “Love, Death + Robots.”
We have already crowned that is shaping up to be one of the best adult animated series to stream on Netflix, and that gives me high hopes that “Secret Level” will be a must-watch when it premieres on Prime Video worldwide on December 10. If you need further convincing, just watch the trailer for “Secret Level,” which is embedded below:

In a Prime Video press release, Amazon billed the series as “epic” and “a celebration of gaming and gamers.”
From the announcement, we know that the series will consist of “15 mind-blowing episodes,” all featuring “groundbreaking animation.” Judging from the teaser above, it looks like “Secret Level” will deliver on that promise.
This first look at the series presents it as a fascinating foray into all sorts of video game universes, filled with beloved characters and brought to life with serious visual talent. If the rest of the series is anything to go by, “Secret Level” could end up joining our list of the best Prime Video series of all time.
Story details are still a bit under wraps, though Amazon has given a glimpse of what's to come in the following statement about the series:
“Each episode of ‘Secret Level’ serves as a gateway to a new adventure, unlocking exciting worlds from beloved video game classics and highly anticipated new titles. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey, as Amazon MGM Studios and the best in gaming unite in a groundbreaking event that brings together more gaming IP in a single series than ever before.”

This isn't an entirely definitive list; the “PlayStation” entry simply states that “various beloved PlayStation Studios entities” will appear, for example. On that note, though, we definitely spotted Ghost of Tsushima's Jin Sakai and God of War's Kratos in the trailer. Nonetheless, we've included them here:
- Shielded core
- Concorde
- Crossfire
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Exodus
- Honor of kings
- Mega Man
- New World: Aeternum
- Pac-Man
- PlayStation (Spotlighting various beloved entries from PlayStation Studios)
