Oxide Games appoints former Nickelodeon and Paramount VP Adrian Wright as GM

Oxide Games has appointed former Nickelodeon and Paramount vice president Adrian Wright as general manager.

Oxide says Wright's appointment to the Maryland-based studio will lead “studio strategy and oversee operations” for Oxide and “focus on bringing together talented developers who are actively seeking to create innovative games in the strategy genre.”

In his previous roles, Wright licensed games to development studios, including the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants titles, as well as Paramount's upcoming adaptation of A Quiet Place.

“Adrian joins Oxide Games at a pivotal time as we prepare for the launch of Ara: History Untold,” said Marc Meyer, President of Oxide Games. “Adrian’s tenacity and experience are a perfect fit for Oxide Games as we continue to ramp up our efforts to create the next generation of technology and games.”

“Since I joined the board of directors at X10 Games, I fell in love with the grand strategy genre,” said Adrian Wright, general manager of Oxide Games.

“I am honored to be working with this talented team of developers at this pivotal time leading up to the launch of Ara: History Untold, as we build upon the rich history of grand strategy titles from the Maryland area.”

Oxide Games was founded in January 2013. It developed the Nitrous engine to support the release of Ashes of the Singularity, which it claims “continues to set the standards for GPU benchmarking.”
