Strands #169
“Hear me roar!”
🔵🔵🔵🟡
🔵🔵🔵🔵
Hey Strands fans. Nice and easy one. “Hear me roar!” immediately makes me think of one thing, and sure enough, I found LION on the right side almost immediately. Lions go paw to paw with TIGERS, and I found this answer in the bottom left corner of the grid shortly after.
Up until now I was wondering if these were animals that roar in general, and it wasn't until I saw JAGUAR stretching from the middle of the painting to the bottom right corner that I realized it was actually about big cats. Sure enough, the word BIGCAT crossed the painting in the middle for the shortest possible spangram.
I had already covered the bottom half, so there were only three big cats left to find in the top segment. PANTHER was on the top right, with CHEETAH to his left.
All that remained was to decipher the anagram of “POEALRD”. It was of course LEOPARD.
