I use a mouse all day, every day. I usually have an ergonomic vertical mouse, but I switched it up for a week to get acquainted with the Logitech Signature M650. This $39 wireless mouse has a lot to offer. But… is it one of the best best wireless mouse?
The Signature M650 falls into the cheaper range of Logitech's many mice, but it doesn't offer the gaming performance or multi-device connectivity found in more expensive products. The M650 is ideal for students, home offices, and casual workers, but it might not be comfortable enough for people who use a mouse 40 hours a week or those with hand or wrist issues.
Unlike other productivity mice I've seen, you can customize the M650. In addition to the many customization settings using the Logi Options+ app, there are left-handed, large, and color variations. But while there's a lot to like about it, it's not perfect. Find out what I thought in this Logitech Signature Wireless Mouse M650 review.

Logitech Signature M650 Review: The Pros
The Logitech Signature M650 is a great mouse if you're looking for a simple, versatile mouse that comes in left- and right-handed styles, looks great in a home office, and does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Affordable
At just $39, this is a great cheaper option if you don't feel like spending $100. While it's not one of the cheapest wireless mice on the market, Logitech offers the M170 for $12, which has a USB-A dongle and the M240 Silencer for $19 — it's still a great deal at under $50.
Several varieties
Unlike other mice I have seen, for example the Logitech MX Master 3S ($99) and the Logitech Ergo M575 ($39), the M650 comes in left-handed, right-handed, and full-size models. If you're left-handed, this is a breath of fresh air. As a lefty myself, I always struggle to find wireless mice that come in left-handed variants. The main difference between the right-handed and left-handed styles is the customizable buttons inside the mouse; on the right-handed style, they're on the left side, and on the left-handed style, they're on the right side (who knew?).
If you're feeling fancy, you can even get this mouse in pink. Most productivity mice I've seen (I'm looking at you, MX Master 3S and Razer Pro Click Mini) only come in black or white, so I like the variety.
Appearance
Despite its sub-$50 price tag and low weight, the Signature M650 feels well-built and sturdy. The dotted grip panel on each side of the mouse is tacky but not sticky, and the grooves fit snugly in your hand. The click buttons inside are stable and easy to reach with your thumb. The battery is accessed through a sliding panel on the underside of the mouse, which is also where the USB-A dongle is located. This is a well-designed and well-made mouse, with a lot of attention paid to practicality.
Bluetooth and USB-A key
The Signature M650 comes with two wireless options. Both are easy to use: simply go into your computer's settings to turn on Bluetooth or plug in a USB dongle to your PC. Naturally, iOS and Android devices will only be able to use Bluetooth. You may have a little trouble inserting the USB-A dongle into your phone or tablet.
Personalization software
With Logi Options+ (compatible with macOS and Windows), you can customize the scroll wheel and side buttons to perform various shortcuts. For example, you can choose to launch Mission Control with the press of a button, take a screenshot, or change the input language if you need to switch between the two. When testing this mouse, I customized the top side button to launch Mission Control and the bottom side button to copy text. These shortcuts worked surprisingly well and made my workday much easier.
You can even change button shortcuts depending on the app you're using, which would be great for someone who spends a lot of time navigating between apps that require different workflows, like best video editing software or coding programs.
Logitech Signature M650 Review: The Cons
Despite these positives, the Signature M650 isn't perfect. If you use a mouse 40 hours a week at work, you may need a more ergonomic model.
Uncomfortable in the long term
Since it's not an ergonomic mouse, the M650 can be a bit uncomfortable after several hours of constant use. At the office, I normally use a vertical ergonomic mouse, the CSL Vertical Mouse (£19 — not available in the US), which I love. While it’s unfair to compare a non-ergonomic mouse to an ergonomic one, the M650 still pulls on my trapezius and forearm after about five hours. That’s fine for casual office use, but if you’re using a mouse 40 hours a week or gaming, I’d recommend investing in an ergonomic mouse instead. Save yourself the shoulder pain. Logitech offers ergonomic options, like the MX Vertical ($100) or the Logitech Elevator ($69).
Logitech Signature M650 review: verdict
If you're looking for an easy-to-use wireless mouse with plenty of customization options, the Signature M650 is a great choice for occasional office use. The non-slip sides and contoured shape fit comfortably in your hand, and it's a well-designed product. However, if you're using a mouse for 40 hours a week for mouse-intensive tasks, you may want to get an ergonomic mouse to spare your shoulder muscles.
