Google Search just got a major update to help you find new shows and movies to watch

Google could soon introduce a major change to the Discover feed, according to a recent APK teardown.

Currently, Google lets users customize their Discover feed to show news and updates based on their interests. Google's Discover feed includes four cards at the top of the feed that show air quality, weather conditions, stock prices, and sports scores. However, an APK from Android Authority has revealed that Google may be adding a new card that will provide updates on new and upcoming TV shows and movies.

The code for the upcoming card was spotted in a teardown of the latest beta version of the Google app, version 13.42.37. Android Authority enabled the feature ahead of the official release, meaning they were able to capture screenshots of what the new card might look like. The card shows the movie’s title and runtime, as well as a smaller version of the movie’s poster and whether the movie is currently in theaters.

Unfortunately, Android Authority was unable to get the map to appear for a TV show. However, we can assume that the map will feature the show's image alongside the air time and location. Hopefully, Google will allow us to better customize the maps based on our location and favorite streaming services, meaning the map could show local showtimes for movies and new additions for sites like Netflix and Disney+.
