French publisher Red Art Games has “suffered a cyber attack.”
In an email to customers, Red Art Games said customer data had been compromised during the attack, including first and last names, dates of birth, email addresses, shipping addresses, order details and phone numbers.
However, the studio was quick to reassure players that “their banking information is secure and has not been affected by this cyberattack.”
“For security reasons, we strongly recommend our customers change the password they used for their Red Art Games account once the website is back up, as well as any similar passwords they use for other accounts,” the team explained.
“Please be very vigilant if you are contacted by anyone impersonating Red Art Games in the coming days, especially if they are asking for money, bank details or private information.”
In response, the studio shut down its website to “keep its customers safe,” apologized and promised to “share any relevant information in the coming days.”
Red Art did not name the group responsible for the security breach.
