2weeks has raised $1.25 million in seed funding, the newly founded studio announced.
The round was led by A16Z, and 2weeks also joined the venture capital firm's accelerator program, Speedrun.
Anorak Ventures, Blue Heron Ventures, Brendan Iribe, Ben 'CohhCarnage' Cassel, Art Min, Nate Mitchell, Nirav Patel and Jamie Stormbreaker also contributed to the round.
The funding will go towards developing further projects at the studio, which focuses on short, web-based experimental titles.
At the end of June, the creation of 2weeks, founded by AAA veterans Brandon Dillon and Richard Foge, was announced. The studio has already released its first small-format title, called Homestretch Bet.
A16Z announced its third annual accelerator program earlier this year, investing $75 million in it to support pre-seed stage video game startups.
